Backspace Pool Systems is a small, owner-run company in Moab. We install fiberglass pools and spas, rebuild backyards around them, look after the pools already in the ground, and train other installers to do the work well.
A cool place to land on a hot day.
Summer in Moab means 100 degree afternoons, warm nights, and a lot of red dust. A pool in the backyard turns that into the best season of the year. It’s where kids learn to cannonball, where friends end up after a ride, and where you float at the end of the day looking up at the cliffs.
We also live in a valley that shares its water. So every Backspace pool comes with an automatic cover, a variable speed pump, a cartridge filter, and salt water care. You get all the fun, and the pool uses less water than the lawn it replaced. We call that low impact leisure.

Who you’ll work with
Eric and Kara, owners.
We’re a husband-and-wife team, and we’ve lived in Moab for about 23 years. Before Backspace we worked construction, ran a landscaping business, and built custom homes through our sister company, Eco Logic Design Build.
We design and install our own projects with a team of like minded people. We like being hands-on, from the first design meeting to the first swim. After decades in construction and a lot of pools in the ground, we know what living here year-round means for a yard: the heat, the freezes, the wind, and the blow sand.
Eric leads every builder training himself. What we teach is the industry standard, and it’s what we use on our own jobs.
